A stronger digital platform for a foundation focused on impact.
The Donnell-Kay Foundation needed a website that better reflected the importance of its mission and made it easier for people to engage with its work. As a nonprofit committed to strengthening communities, children, and families, the organization needed a more modern digital presence that could clearly communicate its initiatives, support public engagement, and give the internal team more flexibility to manage content over time.
Blennd partnered with the Donnell-Kay Foundation to redesign the website from the ground up. The work included a modernized brand style, UX and website design, custom development, WordPress migration, analytics and tracking setup, content organization, team training, and ongoing maintenance support. The Challenge
The mission was strong, but the digital experience needed to work harder.
For a nonprofit organization, the website has to do more than look polished. It needs to clearly tell the story of the organization, help different audiences quickly find relevant information, and make it easier for people to understand and engage with the work. Donnell-Kay needed a platform that could present its community initiatives more clearly, promote events more effectively, and support a diverse user base without creating friction.
The internal team also needed better control over the site after launch. That meant creating a CMS environment that was easier to update, more scalable for ongoing content needs, and supported by analytics tools that could help guide future decisions. The challenge was to bring all of that together in a way that felt modern, intuitive, and aligned with the foundation’s voice and purpose.

Blennd redesigned the Donnell-Kay Foundation website with a more modern brand style and a clearer user experience. The site was structured to make the foundation’s work easier to explore, including a categorized work section that helps showcase community initiatives in a more organized and accessible way. The events experience was also streamlined with a current and past events feed designed to support greater public engagement.
From a platform standpoint, the website was migrated to WordPress to give the Donnell-Kay team a simpler content management experience and more control over ongoing updates. Navigation was simplified to better serve a diverse audience, and analytics tools were integrated to provide insight into site performance and support smarter future updates and strategic decisions. The final result was not just a visual refresh, but a more useful digital platform for both users and the internal team.

The redesigned website delivered meaningful gains across visibility and engagement. Following launch, the Donnell-Kay Foundation saw a 74% increase in new users, a 317% increase in conversions, and a 65% increase in organic keywords. These gains show that the new site did more than modernize the brand. It improved how people discover the foundation, navigate the experience, and take action.
Just as importantly, the project created a stronger long-term foundation for growth.
