SEO Manager (Contract to Hire)

Blennd is looking for an SEO rockstar to join our team to plan, manage, and help grow high-priority SEO accounts. The SEO Manager will lead SEO projects, potentially a small team of SEO Analysts (if needed), reporting to the Director of Growth & SEO Strategy. This role requires proactive thinking and action, in-depth understanding of client businesses, and the ability to directly manage client relationships with the assistance of our Digital Project Manager.
You will be required to work independently to solve SEO and related project challenges, as well as demonstrate KPI improvement while taking a client-business-centric approach that prioritizes client goals and business objectives. The right candidate will create top-performing SEO strategies and deliverables through established SEO best practices, advanced SEO strategies for mature SEO projects, as well as leveraging our in-house SEO software platform for advanced data-driven SEO projects. Additionally, provide all project management support for a book of SEO clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, develop and implement SEO campaign strategies for clients across a variety of industries and sizes including tech, finance, and ecommerce
- Lead all project management and organizational related activities, video meetings with clients, review project plans, work performed and results
- Responsible for crafting SEO focused titles, meta descriptions, URLs and working with the content team to produce fully optimized content
- Create strategic SEO information architecture and internal linking structure
- Optimize written website content and landing pages
- Direct Junior SEO Analyst on campaign requirements
- Direct off-page optimization projects (e.g. link-building)
- Analyze data and report on traffic, rankings and other SEO KPIs
- Audit and analyze SEO performance, identify issues, find root-causes and implement solutions to improve and scale performance
- Identify new opportunities for improving organic traffic growth
- Utilize a working knowledge of site code to discover technical SEO issues, such as page speed improvements, site architecture changes and crawling/indexing issues
- Perform ongoing analyses with Google Search Console and other tools to track and monitor changes
- Stay up to date with the latest SEO and digital marketing latest trends and best practices
- 6+ years of experience in client-facing SEO strategy and implementation, agency experience desired
- Prior agency or consulting experience is preferred

- Proven track record of managing SEO projects from conception to competition
- Deep strategic expertise across technical SEO, on-page, off-page, and digital PR
- Ability to analyze data to provide impactful recommendations and decisions related to on-page, off-page and technical SEO factors
- Proven and measurable success with mid-market or enterprise accounts
- A unique perspective on how to drive value for SaaS and b2b businesses
- Ability to translate and articulate strategy and tell stories with data
- Technical SEO expertise with the ability to translate complex topics for a non-technical audience
- Experience with top SEO tools: SEMRush Screaming Frog, Link Research Tools, Google Search
- Console, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, etc.
- Working knowledge with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (bonus)
- Experience with GTM, Schema Markup, and setting up goals and tracking in Google Analytics
- Ability to drive revenue and measure data via Google Analytics and other analytics tools
- Experience with ecommerce websites and CMS such as WordPress and Shopify. Headless CMS experience is a plus

Job Type: Full time contract
Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
Compensation: Compensation will range from $34-$42/hr based on experience
