GTM / GA4 Paid Media Expert (Contract)

We’re looking for a GTM / GA4 Expert to join our team and support our web development and marketing efforts through precise tracking, analysis, and reporting. In this role, you’ll take charge of implementing and managing Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking, debugging tags, setting up enhanced e-commerce tracking, and creating insightful reports for stakeholders. You’ll collaborate closely with other team members to ensure our digital marketing performance is optimized, data-backed, and aligned with our clients’ goals. This position requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to data analysis.

/ Skill Requirements
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, able to present complex data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools like Google Data Studio / Looker Studio.
  • Advanced expertise in GTM and GA4, with experience in setting up and managing goal tracking and conversions.
  • Proven experience in Shopify and Enhanced E-commerce Tracking within GA4, particularly for product and user behavior analysis.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and their influence on website performance and user behavior.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • Team collaboration skills for working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure consistent implementation and alignment on goals.

/ Education and Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in digital analytics, with expertise in GTM, GA4, and data analysis.
  • Agency experience is a plus.
/ Contract Details
  • Weekly Hours: Starting at 4-5 hours/month, opportunities to expand hours
  • Compensation: $30-$80/hr, based on experience
  • Location: Remote, must be within the United States
/ Roles and Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage GTM and GA4 tracking and tagging across Shopify, WordPress, and other web platforms to optimize marketing campaigns and analyze user behavior.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, derive insights, and make actionable recommendations to enhance website performance, user experience, and conversion rates.
  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards and reports in Google Data Studio / Google Looker Studio to track KPIs, visualize data, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Set up and manage goal tracking to measure conversion rates and funnel performance, ensuring reliable tracking across web properties.
  • Implement Enhanced E-commerce Tracking to analyze product performance and user behavior on Shopify and WordPress sites.
  • Troubleshoot GTM tags and debug issues to ensure consistent, accurate tracking across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and marketers to ensure tracking meets all technical and business requirements and is consistently applied across digital channels.
  • Stay current with trends, tools, and best practices in digital analytics, SEO, and website usability.
  • Conduct A/B and other optimization tests to drive continuous improvement in website and conversion performance.
  • Analyze user behavior through various quantitative and qualitative methods, providing actionable insights for optimization.
